70-90% of critical infrastructure projects fail or stall before construction. Developers spend months, often years, and millions on planning and permitting, only to hit fatal roadblocks, like grid constraints, regulatory hurdles, land-use conflicts, or community opposition, when the capital is already irreversibly sunk.
The actual problem is not a lack of data. Decisions are still made through manual, fragmented, and relationship-driven workflows: spreadsheets, consultants, static geographic data layers, and biased intuition, with virtually no predictive insight into which projects are actually likely to succeed.

FOUNDER-DRIVEN INSIGHT
Nyxium’s vision is deeply rooted in the founders’ own experiences with how infrastructure projects fail in practice.
Co-Founder and CEO Dr. Thiri Shwesin Aung was drawn to geospatial analysis and AI after her family lost their home in a resource-driven conflict in Myanmar (formerly Burma) more than a decade ago. Her work was later submitted as official evidence and became a decisive factor in international legal proceedings.
With her unique insight into the intersection of risk, land, and infrastructure decisions, she previously founded an environmental intelligence platform and successfully scaled it to serve governments and major institutions.
Co-Founder and CTO Dr. Paul Seurin arrived at the same conclusion from the technical side. Through years of modeling nuclear energy systems and project economics at Idaho National Laboratory, the leading nuclear energy research center in the US, he repeatedly saw technically sound projects fail not because of engineering limits, but because siting, permitting, and grid access risks stopped them early on.
Together, they are building Nyxium to surface these risks early, before capital is committed and timelines slip.
